Crews Quarters Overnight Program

Crews Quarters Overnight Program

Restored 1923 Crews Quarters Building

Thank you for your interest in staying at the Shipwreck Museum’s 1923 USCG Crew’s Quarters, located at Whitefish Point. In the interest of keeping our guests and staff safe during the overall uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, we’ll not be opening the Crew’s Quarters during the 2020 season. However, with the hope that we’ll all be living in a more normal world in 2021, we are taking reservations for the 2021 season. We hope that you and your family are staying safe during this challenging time, and please contact us if you have any questions.

The Overnight Program is available between late April through October.

Make your reservations online or call toll-free 800-635-1742. Please call us for dates available within three calendar days of schedule.

We invite you to experience a night or two at historic Whitefish Point, home to the oldest active lighthouse on Lake Superior’s Shipwreck Coast. This is the original U.S. Coast Guard Crews Quarters building, constructed in 1923 for the Whitefish Point Lifeboat Rescue Station. It has been meticulously restored by the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society with assistance from Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs and the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Stroll Superior’s shoreline, where Native Ojibway and the first Europeans gathered nearly 400 years ago. Experience and capture the mystery, romance and human drama of a bygone era… Enjoy the passing ships, or watch the northern lights in an unobstructed sky with millions of stars! A wonderful experience of peace, quiet and solitude!

Chief's Quarters Room 1, a barrier-free room$150.00 per night (June 1 thru October 31). Special rate of $ 125 is offered April and May. No additional charges for double occupancy or extra lodging taxes. Please, no more than 2 people per room. A portion of your donation is tax deductible (50% of your room charge).
