Nature Photography Workshop with Bob Guiliani, Friday, May 29

 | The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum is pleased to announce a one-day Nature Photography Workshop with noted outdoor photographer Bob Guiliani that will take place on Friday, May 29 at the Shipwreck Museum Campus, Whitefish Point. The workshop will run from 9 am to 5 pm; cost is $75 for members of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society and $100 for non-members. Non-members, however, receive a one-year membership with their registration.
An indoor lunch is also included in the registration fee.
This is a refreshing course for the beginner and intermediate photographer on how to have fun while learning the many aspects involved in nature photography. This class will cover the photographing of flowers, birds, landscapes, wildlife, and close-ups. Topics to be covered include lens selection, digital work flow, filters, composition, lighting, close-up techniques, exposure, digital asset management, shutter speeds, f-stops, various flash techniques, white balance, and more.
Bob will also discuss what functions, buttons and dials are used on today’s cameras. Practical instruction, demonstrations and on location shooting will all be part of this learning experience.
Although participants will learn material that can be used with any camera, a list of suggested equipment will be sent to participants in advance of the class.
Bob and his wife Linda own Guys & Dolls Photography Studio and Reflections of Nature Art Gallery in Clare, MI. Bob has given programs to multiple organizations, has been commissioned to do limited edition prints, has had his images published in various magazines, teaches photography at Mid-Michigan Community College, offers photography workshops and has been on TV talk shows. He prints all of his work himself to have complete control of the final art piece. His portrait and nature photographs have received National, State and Local Awards.
He is the current president of Isle Royale and Keweenaw Parks Association, past president of: the Michigan Photographic Society, Professional Photographers of Michigan, Northern Michigan Professional Photographers, Clare Chamber of Commerce, Wildlife Recover Association, and former editor for Michigan Audubon’s Jack-Pine Warbler newsletter. He is a Master Photographer, Photographic Craftsman, nationally certified photographer, and holds a BA and MA degree in chemistry.

Rooms in the Crews Quarters for this weekend will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at standard rates. The class is limited to 15 participants, early registration is recommended.
