Join author Jan McAdams Huttenstine on an unforgettable journey into the historic Whitefish Point area. Read about life along the Great Lakes Waterway and the hearty pioneers who carved an outpost of civilization from the howling wilderness that was once Whitefish Point. Relive the days of powerful fishing enterprises, cranberry farmers along Lake Superior, lighthouse keepers, lifesavers, the effects of shipwrecks on their daily lives, and the proud tradition of the Ojibwe. Learn about the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard operations that led to automation and the Whitefish Point of the 21st century.
Remotely Yours is the first comprehensive history of the Whitefish Point region to date and is as entertaining as it is informative: 7x10 inches, 288 pages, and over 250 vintage photographs, maps and illustrations of Lake Superior history.

You have all these great images, but now what? You need to get them into your computer: Color balance, resize, crop, sharpen, noise reduction, perhaps remove red eye and retouch, convert to black and white, and then backup. This day-long seminar is all about getting the most from your images and how to do it with a software program that won't cost you too much.
This seminar will focus on the use of Adobe Photoshop Elements which retails for about $80. Participants can bring their own computers or take notes to use at a later time. Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Photoshop should already be loaded into your computer if you bring it; Elements 8 is the latest version and will be used in the seminar.
Bob Guiliani and his wife Linda own Guys & Dolls Photography and Reflections of Nature Art Gallery in Clare, Michigan. Bob's work has been published extensively and he has won numerous National, State, and Local Award. He is a Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman.
To reserve a space in this workshop please call the Shipwreck Coast Museum Store toll-free at 888-492-3747. There is a cutoff date of September 12, 2010 to sign up for this workshop.
