The Shipwreck Society is pleased to announce to its members and visitors that the 2018 Summer Appeal has opened! This annual fundraiser is a campaign to support Historic Preservation and Capital Improvement work for the Society, where the year-end Annual Appeal is oriented to seeking contributions for operational funding.

In 2018, we are asking for donations for these projects:

Motor Lifeboat House Exhibit Deck

Motor Lifeboat Restoration

New Sensing/Sonar Equipment for R.V. David Boyd

Underwater Research Activities

Development of Future Museum Exhibits and Educational Outreach

Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural AffairsA Capital Improvement Grant Award has been received to support the Motor Lifeboat House Exhibit Deck from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. This important project has already begun, and we are expecting the deck to be completed before the end of September, 2018. Your contribution helps to provide matching funds for this generous grant from the State, which always requires a 1:1 cash match.
